蘇鉄は、沖縄や奄美大島では、食糧難の時代に島の人々にとって貴重な食糧となったそうで、今でも食べる文化が残っており、人々の命をつないできた「島の宝」として大切にされています。
縁には、菊や牡丹の花々。
一つ一つ描かれたの線が細く繊細に描かれているのが分かります。
